British Invasion Weekend

So, the British invaded Central Texas this weekend.

More precisely, the Texas All British Car Days show was held in Round Rock today. I was planning to go as a camera-wielding spectator. Instead, through a combination of happenstance and generosity, I ended up being a camera-wielding JUDGE. And since it was raining off and on, I was also a cheetah rain boot-wearing judge. Because that’s how I roll.

The spectators and entrants judged several categories; we judges focused on right-hand drive cars (of which there were quite a few) and daily drivers. First prize for Daily Driver went to a lovely little MG that is its owner’s only car. That’s trust.

It truly was an honor to be a judge, to meet all the wonderful people involved with this event, and to see some really extraordinary cars. The Red MINI felt at home as well! There were MINIs, classic Minis, Jaguars, MGs, Triumphs, Austin Healeys, Rolls Royces, Bentleys, Lotuses, Aston Martins, an AC Cobra and more. I took over two hundred photos and will post a lot of them, once I’m through sorting and editing. I know you will enjoy the Aston Martin DB6 and the DeLorean. Until those are ready, here are some I thought you would like in the meantime.
