Fiatissimo!

Kudos and accolades to my friends over at Fiat of Austin! Word on the street is that they are the “winningest” Fiat dealer of all time, having sold over 2,100 cars since the Fiat brand returned to the U.S. in 2011. If you live in Austin, this is easy to believe. You can’t sneeze in this city without hitting a new-age Cinquecento. I don’t know what black magic General Manager Lisa Copeland is up to, but her team be sellin’ some Fiats.

You may remember the Saturday I went out to play with the Fiat folks at Circuit of the Americas, and the weekend I spent with the feisty little Abarth. Same peeps. Apparently they work every now and then as well. 🙂

Unlike most dealerships, the Fiat of Austin “studio” is located in the middle of the Domain, a bustling, upscale retail-and-residential development in North Austin. That was perhaps too good an idea, since they have already grown out of the space!  Look for a new storefront along Highway 183 in February 2014. I can’t even imagine what the sales numbers will be once this team has the space to go wild.

Lisa Copeland is one of the Strong Women, and I hope to have her on here sometime soon to tell you about her career in the car biz and that time Sergio Marchionne had a “Copeland Edition” Fiat 500 made especially for her. It was kind of a big deal.
