MotoGP – Saturday
So I’m unsure about this two-wheeled racing business. It puts me in mind of a literary quote variation: four wheels good, two wheels bad. You know, Automo Farm.
I was out at Circuit of the Americas today for MotoGP practice and qualifying, and let me just tell you: these motorcycle racing fans are a different crew than auto racing fans. I don’t mean that in a bad way – just that I felt a little out of my element. And lacking tattoos. And wearing too many clothes. And not having a bad enough sunburn. And a beer.
Plus, the Argentina Ministry of Tourism had a vendor booth. I really wanted to ask the staffers how they felt about the Argentinian government and economy, but that would have been bitchy. So I refrained. There were other vendors with names like “Mayhem” and “Panic Switch.” Both of those terms may apply to Argentina soon…but I digress.
We shall see how the actual racing goes tomorrow. In the meantime, here are some photos I snapped of practice and/or qualifying (who knows??). Those buggers are fast. And tiny. You’re going to have to click on a lot of these to see much.
The guy on the right is not falling over. He’s doing that ON PURPOSE.
Meanwhile, I liked this bike.
Just a little ol’ Ducati.
About the price of my first MINI.
But, awesome exhaust pipes!
And Brembo brakes.
Speaking of MINIs:
Dubious.
This was my favorite part:
Yup.
ha ha . . . it’s really fun to read something about motogp from a non motogp fans
