Cars and Coffee Austin – July 13, 2014
It was a hot morning in Austin, Texas, but Thing 1 and I headed over to the Oasis for some gratuitous car-spotting. Here’s what we saw…
A little Ford GT40 action.
I got a kick out of this Ford DeLuxe.
Oh, ok. I’ll take a little Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and Aston Martin Vantage action on a Sunday morning. If you insist.
I’m not even a huge fan of the SLS, but it sure is fun to shoot.
In the words of my old friends, Heart, “Oooooh, Barracuuuuuuda!”
I seem to be smitten with this car…
An Acura NSX. You know, what the Wolf drives.
Hiss! Vipers on the loose.
Oh dear.
For real.
Look! A Thing!
Thing 1 liked the Thing. So much so, she jumped in it.
Thing 1 will not be invited back to Cars and Coffee.
But I hope the Thing is!
The old Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG used to be my dream car.
Because V12 bi-turbo.
734 lb-ft of torque, if I recall correctly. I used to have everything memorized on that car. It’s still a beaut, even after being out of production (in this body style) since 2006, and I’d still have one, but I’m thinking the new S63 AMG coupe is looking mighty fine these days, too!
And yet, nothing beats a Jaguar E-Type.
